2010 Run For The Dream Dates Announced

The Run For The Dream Committee has announced the dates of the 2010 Run For The Dream Indoor Track and Field Invitational. The 2010 event will feature 2 days of competition which will be held on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th, 2010. More information will be posted on November 1st, 2009. Stellar Invitational Pole Vault Field

The
Invitational Pole Vault is shaping up to be the featured event at the 2009 Run For The Dream. The six person high/low bar competition with Men and Women competing against each other will feature 3 Olympians and 2 Olympic Gold Medalists. 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist, Tim Mack (Nike) and 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, Stacy Dragila will take on 2 time Olympian, Giovanni Lanaro of Mexico. Lanaro is the Mexican and Pan American Record Holder and was ranked #7 in the world last season. Mack (P.R. 19'08"3/4) and Lanaro (P.R. 19'01"), both have personal bests of over 19 feet (5.80M) and along with former NCAA All-American, Brian DaCunha, will be looking to break the Run for the Dream record of 18'04"1/2 set by Jeff Hartwig in 2006. On the women's side, Dragila will be challenged by two former NCAA Division One Champions, Chelsea Johnson (Nike) and Becky Holliday. Johnson (P.R. 15'06"1/4, #2 U.S. Ranking), one of the rising stars of the pole vault in the United States, is the daughter of legendary vaulter and coach, Jan Johnson. Two weeks ago she captured the National Pole Vault Summit Title over a stellar field with a jump of 14'07"1/4. |
